Hi there Hockey people and animal lovers!
I'm Eddie Edgehog the AEHC Mascot. I live up by Wizards Well up on the Edge and spend most of my time running about the Edge as fast as my little legs will carry me! I'm a huge huge hockey fan and used to play a bit in my younger days!

A few personal Edgehog facts:-I have about 6,000 sharp spikes on my back and harbour about 1000 fleas at any moment in time. Ouch, scratch ,scratch! When not hibernating, I travel a mile a night over a home range around the Edge of 125 acres, in search of food and my mates! The loss of hedgerows and the spread of intensive farming has reduced cover leaving me at the mercy of hungry Badgers, boooo hiss! But I'm a big fan of the Alderley Edge Badgers and Beavers Boys teams, C'mon the Edge at THE EDGE HOCKEY CENTRE, the super new pitch on the Ryleys playing field!
When I manage to wake up I go to lots of 'Edge matches.I saw the Ladies 1st team win the England Hockey Board knockout competition called 'The Vase.' Wow! That was sooooooo exciting!. I even got to have my picture taken with the Vase and the Club President, Nick Rudgard. Great to be there as a VIP guest!.
Did you see me on telly winning the Mascots Gold Cup???? After months of training on the Edge I beat all comers and won best turned out in the paddock at Wetherby racecourse.
Not bad for a spikey little fellow! Lots of media attention , offers to join Barcelona, guest appearances and now I have my own facebook page, Eddie Edgehog Mascot, with pics and video of my big race win! Check it out soon !
