The Club communicates with all Club members (including young members) to ensure they are aware of who to report child protection concerns to.
The Club Welfare Officer is Sue Baker-Brian supported by Ghis Barrie and Kelvin Briggs
- The Club ensures that all volunteers with significant access to young people are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked through EHB every three years as per EH guidelines.
Sue Baker-Brian, Ghis Barrie and Kelvin Briggs have attended the EHB 'Time to Listen' hockey specific safeguarding training. It is targeted specifically at those people in a welfare role. It builds on basis awareness and focuses on implementation. The training gives individuals the opportunity to discuss hockey specific issues, challenges and good practice.
Club personnel regularly working with young people are encouraged to complete EHB’s Online 'Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey' course.
