  • The Club ensures that all volunteers with significant access to young people are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked through EHB every three years as per EH guidelines.
  • All coaches and volunteers working within the junior section are committed to Safeguarding & Protecting Young People in Sport.
  • The club maintains a secure database of all young people’s contact details (emergency contact information and consent of their parent or person with legal responsibility, photography consent and medical information ).
  • The club is committed to  regular communication with parents (or whoever has legal responsibility)

 

Sue Baker-Brian, Ghis Barrie and Kelvin Briggs have attended the EHB 'Time to Listen'  hockey specific safeguarding training. It is targeted specifically at those people in a welfare role. It builds on basis awareness and focuses on implementation. The training gives individuals the opportunity to discuss hockey specific issues, challenges and good practice.

Club personnel regularly working with young people are encouraged to complete EHB’s Online 'Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey' course.
