AEHC swapped festive fare and the odd sherry or two for what, for most teams, were their first competitive matches of 2018. The fixture calendar is already looking very congested though with several games cancelled from before Christmas and due to be played on Sunday postponed again due to frozen pitches.See full story...

Reminder to Recycle
Members please be advised we now recycle our old and used tennis balls with Recycaball.
For every 200 balls we recycle we receive £25 into the tennis section to help fund the Courts Project.
They are an organisation who collect used tennis balls and donate them to several charities that can make great use of them to help underprivileged children, OAPs, support nature and make many dogs very happy!
Help us make tennis a greener and eco-friendly sport and bring along any used tennis balls you may have lying around. Please deposit dry balls only in the green bins located on Court 3, 12 and 14.
As long as balls are not severely weathered or have damaged nap they can be recycled.
Thank you for your help

New for this season! Grade 6 Mini Tennis Match Play Open Sessions
Allan Morton - our Assistant Coach - is running some Grade 6 match play sessions at the club for mini tennis
A successful mini green event was run in October as well as a mini red event in November, with children visiting from other clubs as well as our own players participating.
The next tournament is as follows - and it would be great if as many of our own players as possible can participate. It does not matter what your standard is - or if you have never played a match - it is a chance to play others of the same age and ability!See full story...

AEHC Mens 5s Captain, Jon Talbot, handed over a cheque for £250 when his team took on Denbigh in North West division 5 this weekend. The cheque was to support Denbigh club member Ben Rawson’s crowdfunding efforts to buy the best possible prosthetic leg following his diagnosis with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer which will result in him losing his left leg in order to optimise his chances of survival.
Aged just 21, Ben has completed six cycles of pre-operative chemotherapy and faces more treatment in Wales and at Manchester’s Christie Hospital following his amputation. His friends and family have now set up a campaign to focus on securing him the best possible prosthetic limb which will hopefully ultimately result in Ben being able to get back to competitive hockey and university.
