The Road to Wimbledon Junior Tennis Tournament for Under 14 boys took place at the club on Friday evening. Thirteen boys in this age group played round robin matches followed by a knock-out semi-final and final. There were some very hard fought close games and long rallies, made even longer by the fact that many of the matches were one set all and the winner was decided by a tie break. There were some very tired boys at the end of an enjoyable evening of tennis - both for the participating children and the spectators!
Congratulations to everyone who took part - especially as for some of the boys, this was the first time they had played in a competitive tournament.
Max Green won the final against Barney Wright and both received medals. Max will go on to represent the club at the regional finals. And the eventual winner of the national competition will play at Wimbledon! Max will be joined by Maldini Simic who won the girls event which was played earlier in the season.
