Just two weeks after the opening of the five new artificial clay courts at the club....
......the Lawn Tennis Association have announced that Alderley Edge Tennis Club is the winner of the North Region 'Club of the Year' Award.
Paul Bennett, LTA Head of the region said "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your club on your success and to let you know you have been put forward as our Region's winner to the National Panel"
The club will be invited to attend a regional presentation ceremony and will also go forward to the national selection, where the club will be pitted against clubs from six other regions - four from England and one from each of Scotland and Wales. Jon Harari, Tennis Chairman, responded "The club is delighted to receive such a prestigious award."
Anthony Wilding from Cheshire LTA said "Congratulations to everyone at Alderley Edge for your fantastic win. To come out top in a really competitive section covering the whole of the North of England is an incredible achievement. Fully deserved."
Abi Martineau from the LTA National Awards team congratulated the club with the following message "I am delighted to confirm you have been selected as the regional winner of the Club of the Year award for the North region in the 2018 LTA Awards (formerly British Tennis Awards). As a member of the national team, I wanted to add my congratulations on behalf of the LTA for winning this award. It is an incredible achievement and rightly acknowledges all you do for tennis and your community."
