An Alderley 3rd division team took part in the Yolo Jo's Charity 24 hour squash marathon at Warrington Squash Club on the 15th June, helping to raise almost £12,000 for the charity that supports bucket list wishes for those with terminal illness.
All players (Natalie Davenport-Husdan, Christian Smyth, Mick Regan & Mark Beale) managed to lose convincingly to their opponents Woolston 1, with the exception of Steve Flanagan who retained some dignity for the team. It was a fun afternoon, with music, lots of well wishers and a great atmosphere supporting Dave Williams of Woolston who lost his wife to cancer two years ago.
Thanks to members of AESC who couldn't play but who still donated to the event, we hope to take two teams to support the event and fill 5 hours of the Squashathon next year.
