Refurbishment of Courts 11 and 14
Unfortunately Court 14 is unplayable because of dirt and slime on the court, which surfaced after the deluge of rain we had a week ago. In addition Court 11 is draining poorly and we are concerned we will soon face the same issue on this court as with Court 14.
Thus both courts are being ‘rejuvenated’ by Replay Maintenance, the company who carry our quarterly maintenance on our artificial grass courts. Replay carried out this process on Courts 1,2,3,10 and 13 a couple of years ago and they are draining well without sediment being deposited.
It involves using a vacuum compressor to remove all the old contaminated infill and to replace it with new sand.
Replay will be on site next week, starting on Tuesday 12th and finishing on Thursday 14th.
During this period each court, and possibly it’s neighbour, will be closed and regrettably this will impact on floodlight play. The position for Club Night on Wednesday is expected to be as follows;
- Court 9 - Available from 6PM
- Court 11 – Closed for Maintenance
- Court 13 – Available at 6.30PM
Some floodlight block booking slots will be affected, and we will notify those groups where this is the case, separately.
Thank you for bearing with us while we sort out this problem and make big improvements for play on courts 11 and 14. Please use the paths and avoid cutting across the cricket pitch since, over weeks and months, transport of dirt onto the courts eventually leads to the need for expensive rejuvenation.
