AESC are sad to announce that Club Coach Matt McFahn is moving on from Alderley Edge. Over the last 5 years, Matt has transformed the junior section at AESC, with a record number of junior players taking part in Friday lessons and joining the club as members. Only two months ago he ran Alderley's first junior tournament which had a huge number of juniors enter and enjoy a packed out friday finals night complete with presentation and prizes.
Matt ran the racket stringing service at AESC, private coaching sessions for members, helped with internal leagues and club tournaments and set up a club shop selling & lending squash equipment. He was instrumental in setting up women only group sessions at the club which resulted in several adult local women taking up a brand new sport and joining the club as members, including playing in the mixed internal leagues and mixed NWCSL on Thursday nights. It has also meant AESC's ladies section have been able to field two teams relatively easily in recent years, something that has always been a struggle.
The squash committee would like to thank Matt for all his hard work as detailed and for improving the profile of AESC within the community. We wish him luck in his new career!
