Two weeks ago we asked that children did not play football on any of the tennis courts. Or climb up or jump on cricket covers or nets.
Last Friday three children were very rude to a lady member of the club when she asked them politely to move off the tennis courts. As well as playing football, they were hanging off the tennis nets. Another male member came to assist and the children were also rude to him. After multiple requests the children did leave the courts.
As we said a few weeks ago, we have invested £500k+ in the new artificial clay tennis courts and we also spent £9k cleaning three of the astro tennis courts last year.
We asked our members to take collective responsibility for looking after our facilities - and on this occasion two adult members did so. Thank you.
HOWEVER the response of the children was not appropriate. So we ask parents again - especially on Friday evenings to ensure that their children play safely and in appropriate areas of the club grounds.
We want our children to enjoy our facilities and to have a good time, but we also need to ensure their safety as well as preserving our fantastic facilities.
