Junior cricket at Alderley Edge CC is about young boys and girls from age 6-18 learning how to play cricket, to have fun, to get mums and dads involved and to provide coaching for all children irrespective of ability.

We run teams at Under 9/11/13//15/17 & U19 levels, in many cases multiple sides per age group, playing competitive cricket in various Cheshire, High Peak and South Manchester leagues.  Great success has been achieved in the past within the junior section and many players have developed into the senior sides at the club, with County representative honours a common factor within junior players from the club.

The summer coaching programme starts Friday 22nd April and usually runs until end of July

on Monday evening for U13 & U15 and older 5pm & 6pm respectively
on Friday evening at 4:30pm (new joiners, U9s), 5:30pm (U11)

Senior (open age) cricketers, including older juniors by invitation, on Thursday evenings

All coaching is at the club on Moss Lane. All age groups are based on the player’s age at 1 September 2021

In 2022 the fullest possible programme of Junior Cricket Matches will be arranged, starting in April. Click to see Match Schedule & Team Manager information.

We run two teams at U9s, two teams at U11s, three teams at U13s, one team at U15s, plus additional sides at U12s and U14s age groups, and U17/19 for Cup matches.  The club endeavour to integrate Junior Cricketers into Senior Cricket at the earliest possible age and from U14s onwards the 3rd XI field up to 8 Junior players in a team.

Other Sessions

Further small group, one to one and holiday camp sessions are provided as requested.  For more information please contact the club coach Mark Currie on 07545 229587.

AECC and our club coach have arranged the services of a team of coaches to offer high quality one-to-one or small group coaching (max. 5 to a group).  The team consists of ECB Level 2 and Level 3 qualified coaches.
Sessions can be booked throughout the summer.  This is an excellent opportunity for junior club members to access specialist coaching outside of the training sessions already offered by the club.

Our Club Professional Mark Currie is also the owner of Cuzza Cricket, offering camps, training etc.

Senior Nets

Juniors who are ready for open age cricket, including U16 upwards, are invited to attend nets with the senior players throughout the summer on Thursdays from 6pm starting Thursday 28th April

Using Club Nets

Junior members are welcome to use club nets. An adult must be present at all times, and full protective cricket gear must be worn by the batter.
