Head of Coaching - Amanda Partington

Amanda has been with Alderley Edge HC for 7 years coaching the Mens 1st Team succeeding and making AEHC history when Men's 1s secured promotion to the EH National League. Since 2016, Amanda has been our Head of Coaching with the ambition of developing an inspirational coach and player pathway, that furthers the club’s potential and drives sustained success, empowering each coach and giving players a path to succeed.

- Head Coach for England Hockey Performance Centre (Manchester -Boys).
- PE Teacher at Stockport Grammar School.
- England Hockey Coach Educator.

Previous hockey roles

- Head Coach for Wales Senior Women’s Squad (Commonwealth Games –Delhi 2010, Glasgow 2014 & World League, 2012, 2014 & Europeans 2011, 2013 & 2015).
- First female Head Coach in Men's premier EHL with Bowdon HC. Gained record highest club place and play off for EuroHockey League place in 2011.
- Head Coach for Loughborough University, Poynton Ladies and English Universities.
- Coach for England Hockey World Class Programme, working with England u18s for European and Four Nations Championships, Academies and part of the development journey for 2016 Olympic Gold medalists Sam Quek, Nicola White, Laura Unsworth, Hannah Macleod.
Professionally Amanda is an Independent Sports Consultant who has led on Performance and Talent Development projects for the last 10 years following a 14 year University lecturing career in PE & Sport and 5 years with England Hockey as the National Manager for Education, where she created and designed Quicksticks.

- Currently completing a Prof.Doc in Elite Performance ‘Delivering and sustaining culture change in talent pathways’.

Lead Coach Ladies 1s - Kelly Pryde-Fillingham

Lead coach for Ladies 1s and has the target of promotion into the National League for our Ladies side. Her personal ambition is to coach at a National and International level; Kelly has a real passion for coaching juniors and elite players and hopes to realise her ambitions through working with our junior structure as well as the seniors. Kelly herself has played in the National League Conference for Sheffield HC, following a full hockey scholarship in the USA.

Lead Coach - Sean Hadfield

Lead coach with the Ladies 2-4s, Mens 4-7s squads and under 16 boys development programme plus the GK development.  Delivering the club framework across the club and player pathway progression through the squads. Main focus to develop players through the teams and assist players become the best they can be. In addition Sean coaches the u16 Girls squads.

Club Coach - Mark Smith

Coaching Ladies 4s, u14 Tier 2 Girls and u13 Girls coach. Developing and supporting the potential of all players, across all ability and age ranges, whatever their aspirations may be. Working within the framework developed to provide training sessions that allow players to develop the skill set that they need for games. Supporting teams on a weekend to perform to the best of their ability and to enjoy the game experience.
