Head of Coaching - Amanda Partington

Amanda has been with Alderley Edge HC for the last 6 years coaching the Mens 1st Team and is now our Head of Coaching, with the ambition of developing an inspirational coach and player pathway that furthers the club’s potential and drives sustained success, empowering each coach and giving players a path to succeed.

Current roles

- Head Coach for England Hockey Performance Centre (Manchester -Boys).
- Hockey Coach at Stockport Grammar School.
- England Hockey Coach Developer.

 

Previous roles

- Head Coach for Wales Senior Women’s Squad (Commonwealth Games –Delhi 2010, Glasgow 2014 & World League, 2012, 2014 & Europeans 2011, 2013 & 2015).
- First female Head Coach in Men's premier EHL with Bowdon HC. Gained record highest club place and play off for EuroHockey League place in 2011.
- Head Coach for Loughborough University, Poynton Ladies and English Universities.
- Coach for England Hockey World Class Programme, working with England u18s for European and Four Nations Championships, Academies and part of the development journey for 2016 Olympic Gold medallists Sam Quek, Nicola White, Laura Unsworth, Hannah Macleod.
Professionally Amanda is an Independent Sports Consultant who has led on Performance and Talent Development projects for the last 10 years following a 14 year University lecturing career in PE & Sport and 5 years with England Hockey as the National Manager for Education, where she created and designed Quicksticks.

- Currently completing a Prof.Doc in Elite Performance ‘Delivering and sustaining culture change in talent pathways’.

Head Coach Ladies 1s - Andrew Gibson

Andrew is Ladies 1s Head Coach, with the ambition to develop the squad and prospective players, maintaining the North Premier League status. In addition, he will work with our u14 cup and development squad girls.

Apprentice Coach – Chris Ashton

Chris is our apprentice coach helping us deliver across the club and in local schools. Chris coaches the boys 12-16yrs Development programme, Ladies 5-7s squads and the coaching camps and Top up programme. The role also links in to Kings School, Macclesfield and Alderley Edge School for Girls.
